There were only eight anglers who turned out for the club‘s last fishing competition of the year which was the ‘Hilton’, which was held on the Victoria pier.
Kenny clough & Steve cowell were tied on 15.5 point’s , the fishing was very slow and it made for a long competition, Kenny was the first to land a scarce dogfish followed a while after by Kevin Doyle & mike fayle, but that was it, there were a few little poor cod and the odd pouting being caught & then Kenny managed to land a second dogfish near the end to take the win & trophy.
it turned out to be Kenny’s night as not only did he take the win & trophy but most of the pools as well which were bag weight 3-15.5 , heaviest other 8 ounce pouting , he tied with mike fayle for the heaviest dogfish 1-14 & and was paired with Steve cowell for the pairs 4-10.
The first comp of the 2013 season will be the Jarvis competition ( which will be measure & return) Sunday 6th January 5 – 8 pm , booking in from 4pm at the blue gate.

just a quick word about the fishing on the pier, it is very slow & not much showing at all,there were a lot of undersized fish caught, poor cod ,codling,pout & calig, so if you are going for a fish through the xmas hols be prepared for a slow night.
