The last leg of the clubs winter rover was fished in miserable conditions hence there were only seven anglers who turned up to fish the competition.
there were three anglers who had a chance of taking the trophy, Paul hay & Steve quilliam were tied on 53 points & Billy booth only half a point behind.
five of the seven anglers opted for the comfort of the Victoria pier, whilst Billy & Paul chose to fish the beach, this turned out to be the right decision as there were a lot more fish than the pier.
at the weigh in Paul took top spot with six dogfish for 11-01, second spot went to Billy booth with 4 dogfish 6-14, and Steve quilliam took third with two dogfish & a poor cod 2-11.
Paul won the trophy by a single point 58 and Billy and Steve tied on 57, the win also secured Paul the clubs saltwater championship.
the pools went to Paul hay bag weight & heaviest dogfish 2-01 , Billy booth took the pairs pool with ray Hughes 8-07 & Steve quilliam took the other pool with a 3 ounce poor cod.
I will post the final points table on the clubs website douglasangling.com, the last competition of the year is a rearranged Hilton competition which will be held on the Victoria pier Sunday 23rd December, booking in from 5pm fishing 6 – 9 pm.
