Well the comp on the whole was a good laugh with seven taking part and with the weather being so good it was a cracking day to be out on the water.
Fishing on the whole is now picking up, but there are still none of the larger fish showing like Tope and Bull Huss.
The compeditors fished severel marks to the south and at the end of the day it came down to the Heaviest Ling to decide the winners, as both Lee Graham and Gary Bridson had 9 species each. The one difference was that Lee had a Dog Fish and Gary had a Cod. So the list in total contained 11 different species in all as Trampie managed to catch the only Haddock of the day.
The full list then is as follows
Mackerel
Launce
Pollack
Dog Fish
Cuckoo Wrasse
Ling
Cod
Coal Fish
Whiting
Pouting
Haddock.
With all that Lee Took 1st place and the lions share of the Money pot with his ling of 5lb .11.385 ozs, and Gary taking the rest for having the next best Ling of just over the 4lb mark .
I would just like to thank our other sponsor of the day TOTAL OUTDOORS LTD for donating lots of fishing line worth over £100, which was spread out among all the compeditors. Third place on the day went to Simon Reed fishing on Trampie who ended up with 6 species, with Michael Cowin having an off day with only 4 "He Said". I am also awaiting more photos off Michael , once i have them i will post as soon as i can.
Finally we thought that Simon might end up in the briny, but he made it
