With his pirate escapades of the previous night behind him skip emmo set sail for the laxey bay mark of said merit 1 with the intention of taking another 3 off yours truly. The pool for the night was for the heaviest ray, backed up with the most species for the night.
Conditions were quite difficult once the anchor had been deployed as the boat was push side ways in the wind so with the tide ebbing all lines were trailing to the port side of the boat. This lead to Micheal having several tangles with himself, but not gear or tempers were lost.
fishing was quite slow at first with Doggies plagueing Skips baits, i on the other hand although catching a few doggies seem to have cornered the market on Tub Gurnards even to the extent of bagging a brace at one point.
Whiting then became the next pests and the odd Mackie made an appearance, although there was still no joy for either of us in catching the prized Ray.
We both thought that with the turn of the tide we would then have a change of fortune, how wrong can you be, apart from the continual doggies and whiting any ray stood no chance of getting near the bait laid down before them.
By the end of this session it was emmo who had to give the 3 up as with no rays taken it was me who had the most species winning 5-4 with the late capture of a grey gurnard along with yet another Tub.
