Time to go fishing with the rain holding off and the sea as calm as you like.

Admin and his nephew began what is going to be a busy year for them both today by taking Bones out and fishing new marks . first call of course was the back of douglas head for bait .With plenty of launce to be had you would have thought that the mackie would not have been to far away but this did not prove to be the case, although a sizeable Coalie was taken here.

Next stop was the lady Lou , followed quickly be the paddle in seach of mackie but to no avail, only Poor Cod and a couple of Pouting were caught at these locations.

Our final mark for the rest of the day was the ZAP mark ( a mincey blue club mark somewhere off I O M). At this mark we got four rods out with a whole host of rigs on and drifting north 1st at this mark and then south as the tide turned we caught six species including two nice Tub Gurnards.

The fishing was not fast but bites were frequent and so by the end of the session we had reached double figures in our species hunt including a dab on the last cast of the day.

We did think however that a tope may have be taken today as i did have a very serious knock on one occasion but to no avail .

The full list of the days fish are as follows: Mackie, launce, coalie,Pouting, Poor Cod,Dab, Dog Fish, Tub Gurnard, Grey Gurnard and Whiting, not too bad i suppose for a quick blast out, shows that the fish are starting to return.

Sam with one of the Tub Gurnards.
