With the comp cancelled due to bad forcast we decided to get out early before the weather set in. 6 45 after a macdonalds breakfast we left the harbour in flat calm conditions, the macky were plentiful at the back of the head and we were soon heading for Grenaugh where our plan was to anchor up for as long as the weather would allow. We were straight into fish and had callig, dogs bollan, cuckoos, mackrel, ling , a small conger, and for the 2nd trip in a row Tiger latched into 2 cracking tope the 2nd and largest being his best to date which had to be between 45-50lb ( dont know what I have to do to catch one
) The days highlight for me was my first black bream for 2 yrs, a fish of around 2lb that decided to fall off as I swung it onto boat ( still claiming it though, might be 2 yrs before I get another)
Around 12.30 the sea started to get up so we decided to err on the side of caution and head back. We stopped off in the bay and caught some macky for the freezer. Considering the day was supposed to be a washout it turned out pretty successful and its a pity the Hen couldnt make it as an 8 til 1 comp would have worked quite well
I have posted tigers tope pic in the gallery as I dont know how to insert them in the text, maybe jamie or sam can PM me or better still post an idiots guide of how to do it on a thread
