Whilst the Pair Fishing boats headed south With enough bait caught in a 10 minute burst we the set course to a spot 15miles offshore .
once there we went on the drift just to see what was about . Not long and the 1st bite resulted in a small Red Gurnard followed by a Tope and then Doggies and even a couple of whiting .the drift was taking us closer to our main target of the day which was a wreck some 18 miles off the manx coast.
With the tide easing we headed for our final destination of the day and at the 2nd attemt we were virtually spot on the wreck. Pouting were the best sign that we had which told us we were on the wreck and then Ling and congers were brought to the surface at regular intervals. Some gear was lost to fish diving back into the safty of the wreck but all in all the fishing was quite good.
When the tide started to change we uped anchor to reposition ourselves and found that we were even better positioned than we had been previously. Micheal even managed to get his 1st and 2nd bull Huss of the year now but the Two best fish of the day fell to yours truly in the shape of a good double figure Conger and a Ling wieghing in at just above the 11lb mark.
The day was marred though with the fact that i am now £11 down due to Emmo gaining another win in our pool for the day which was a species hunt by winning 8-6.We caught a total of 9 species between us which were:TOPE,RED GURNARD,DOGGIES,WHITING,LING,BULL HUSS,POUTING,MACKIE AND CONGER EEL .
