Went out on a great November day with Michael on Kirsty 111 and headed south to Castletown for a session on the Callig.
Live Sand-Eels were in short supply but we did have frozen as back up and a good job we did. However the Callig fishing was not for once very good so after 90 mins we made a decision to head back to Douglas in search of Cod.
With Michael picking the pool of the day as the heaviest Callig i safely had won the £1 pool, but we decided to have another pool for the longest Cod.
The fishing in Douglas Bay was busy with lots of Codling, with Whiting and even Haddock were being caught which is very unusual for this part of Island fishing.
Most Codling were around the 35/36 cms mark but Michael won the pool having one of 38 to my 37 cms best fish.
The whiting that were caught were of decent size with the Haddock not just sizeable for the table.
The fishing on the whole for the day was quite good, but after not being out on the boat for quite a while due to the recent weather it was so good to be afloat again.
This was probably the last outing for K3 this year so the £ pool finished even for 2014. Many thanks from me to Michael for some great fishing this year on his boat with the crack as always very good fun.
here are a few pics of our day out.
