With the tides being quite large on the day of this comp i feel it might be prudant to alter it from a ray comp to say a calig or a ling comp!!, i say this as it might be hard to hold bottom sufficiantly at the six mile mark . If however you all feel that a switch of venue to say laxey would still give us alll a chance of rays then so be it .

With that gents we will be going to pt grennaugh for a cod fest ,boat bag wieght takes the spoils ,meet at 5.15 battery pier ,fishing 6 til 10 pm ,are we all clear ,lets get it on .

No probs with cod comp but why a boat bag weight and not heaviest fish? a boat with 4 anglers will beat a boat with 2 anglers if drifting over a reef , too snaggy to fish 2 rods by one person.

Now i know more than most that you can't please every body all of the time ,but this switch is to help out the crew of merit 1 who is not running on full power ,but will risk going down as far as P.G in order to have some fun .We have other comps that are for calig and it will make a change to go after some cod,at least none of them will be wasted .

These mid week comps are designed for us all to get out of the house and have some FUN AND GOOD BANTER ,not for all to start bickering at a change in tactics or plans , this thread was started last WEDNESDAY with only 1 response till friday ,one more on sunday and two yesterday ,that is not very good communication is it when i know for a fact how frequent most of you are on here lurking but not many of you are BOLD enough to open your mouth .

ARE MOST OF YOU THAT SHIT SCARED TO DO SO ,AND CAN SO CALLED ONLY DO IT WHEN YOU THINK THAT BY TEXTING SOME ONE YOU WILL NOT UPSET OTHERS , WRONG FORUM FOR THAT ,I WILL QUOTE YOU .

There are some anglers who having read that text are having serious doubts as to whether they will continue to fish any more of the comps that M B F has planned for the rest of this year.

As Gary said earlier in the thread i'm also not into raping a mark. Especially when the mark is looking healthy. I fished the grenaugh area yesterday and i don't think it is unreasonable to expect each angler to catch approx 10 codling each which, depending on the number of anglers, could workout to being 100-200 dead cod! Personally decimating a mark of codling is't for me.

I haven't posted anything on the forum until now as i thought it was going to be a calig/ling comp which i wanted to do as it was fair and didn't envolve killing everything. As its now a heaviest bag comp and i feel two anglers will be at a disadvantage i won't be doing this one.

Everyone's entitled to their opinion and this is only mine. Good luck for the comp on what ever is decided.

You should read the responses more carfully ali ,it is a heaviest single fish comp ,(see what i mean .)

The bream are about if anyone's interested. I had a nice one yesterday just over 2lb.

I think this will be mt last year fishing comps I also think that the fun has gone out of them so what we catch a few cod its good with curry I THINK WE SHOULD JUST FISH AND THATS THAT! Jamie has put a lot of time and energy to run this site and the comps if someone thinks they can do better why dont they take it on next year!

Your right i do 'like a load of girls'. Getting them is the problem! I can't speak for Tiger but i know he was gutted when G&D's was closed down.

Everyone knows how this comp is now being fished - I see no need for tit for tat.
