According to all the various weather sites from guru to iom gov reports and coastal reports it is not looking to favourable is it .I would like to get it on as like last week-end it remained good enough to get out although the forcast was not good ."IDEAS".I could delay my decision ,but at what cost people may have already got other things planned if i change the start times .My gut instict is to cancel but if fine on sunday would any body still be up for comp at short notice .Your thoughts as always gents please .this weather is pi****g me off .

Weather doing my head in too !!!, got a feeling its going to be good for next weekend, bit of high pressure trying to in!

I'd cancell looking at forecast bigger boats would be alright but too windy for safe fishing in smaller boats. At least an early decision would allow other plans to be made

I am more in favour of making it fair for all i doreally want us all out fighting for these sponsered events so i freel the best solution is to cancel AGAIN and put it on at another time to SUIT ALL anglers .

why dont you see what monday night brings weather looks good can everyone fish then?

you can not put a sponsored comp on a shorter time by fishing in the evening, ALL sponsored comp's are 6 hrs in length, it will just have to be put on anoyher day.
lrts hope that we can get out for the 2 day comp as i am really looking forward to that

Billy ,with respect ,when your sponsered comp is to be held THEN AND ONLY THEN WILL YOU BE ABLE TO DICTATE how that comp is run ,it is I and i alone have arranged our sponsers for the year and it is i and i alone that have being given their own personal intructions on how the comp is to be run and therefore i ask you to respect the ruling of this site . If this is not acceptable i will of course understand if you withdraw your sponsership.

Have you cancelled it or is it still being discussed? The Manx forecast is giving ssw 3-4 Sunday afternoon then going variable 2-3 and he sounded very confident about it. XCweather is still giving 20 mph!

Well ,what do you want to do guys ???, do you all want to go for it?? ,i'm game for the comp if you are all happy to do that ,i have decided that in future i will leave all comp decisions til the night before a comp. This weather is driving me f***ing mad .I'm going fishing regardless ,but if you all want to go for it then ok . You have got til 9.45 am to get your boats out . I do not wish to appear to be f***ing yous about but 4 skippers are willing to go .

Tough one to call with the weather. This is the latest shipping forecast for 24 hours from
noon tomorrow,
"South or southwest 4 or 5 decreasing 3 or 4, becoming variable or northwest 2 or 3 later."
SSW 4 or 5 for small boats and pussies (like us) is not nice at all, but if it drops soon enough we could end up missing out on a decent day!
Can we speak to the met office in the morning and then make a decision? Could even fish 2 til 8 which gives 2 more hours of moderation but I do realise you need to get your boats out for 9:30.
As has already been said it's up to Tiger and any other smaller boats who intended to fish originally.
I guess I'm passing the buck!

After speaking to my old man I've just suggested to Jamie that it might be an idea to have a comp where we all anchor up at the same spot as we did in the midweek comp. That way there's no pressure on the smaller boats to get anywhere in a hurry. Something to think about in the morning maybe.

At least the tides are small too

well we were going to go ahead with trhis comp but Corrie "C" gave best to the conditions although by the end of the day it was excelent .Nice to see a new boat to our comps in Trampie turn up ,pity his crew did not ,so he did not fish . on our way out to the 6 mile mark Merit 1 broke their steering and had to return to port. With this in mind i thought that the most sporting thing to do was cancel the comp and re-run it at a later date . If any one wants the entry fee back just ask , i was going to leave it for when i do run this comp ,if other boats want to fish then i will just add their entries to those already paid .

We did go fishing and i will post a report tommorrow with some hilarious results .

I will say though that some one did catch a thorny out there ,Any guesses as to who???
