Word reaches me that an act of piracy was committed this evening just off Douglas Head
The pirate in question had spent a fair while trying to catch mackerel with minimal success when along came the good ship Merit 1 and kindly gave him a lesson in how to catch fish
with Scummer, Lee and Gary hauling in mackerel it wasn't long before they had a box full and innocently went alongside the other vessel offering to share their bounty with the needy.
It was at this stage that the pirate, a certain Long John Emery, took the opportunity to cut the feathers from Lee's rod and steal them for his own, assuming it was the tackle rather than user error which was to blame for his lack of fish !!!
I wouldn't mind but the galleon in which he sails is already loaded with treasure in the form of round pound gold bullion very generously supplied by 1st mate Hinchliffe
So next time you see Kirsty III out at sea be sure to giver her a wide berth for fear of attack !!!
Rumours that Kirsty III will be flying the Jolly Roger from now on rather than the IOM flag are yet to be confirmed
