| I have i my possession the 2012 catch verification cards . Anyone wishing to obtain one needs to get in touch and arrange to pick one up. Remember all fish must be photographed with the card in plain view and all fish must be of the minimum size limits as laid down by M B F .
All species that are deemed as unclassified all have to be 20cms or above.
If you need a list of size limits for all fish a list will be provided when you pick up you verification card.

| After looking through the list of species and their size limits, just pointing out about the minimum size limit of 20cm of any unclassified species. Are you not trying to promote and encourage the catch of as many different species from the boat over the year? If so, surely having a 20cm limit for unclassified species, would rule out a multitude of species, that can be easily targeted. I mean, there is plenty of other species in that smaller bracket to be caught and would be much easier than a 24cm Sole?? If it is a photograph and release challenge, why have any size limits at all? |

| With regards to the size limits Cam i do agree with you as regards the "mini species " its just how i have been educated to their minimum size as regards competitions for species from boats. I will conceed as to the size of the "mini species " or "unclassified " ones.
The size limits for all other fish WILL stand,i believe that this way will give all an equal shout and make it a little more of a competition.

| It will hopefully bump up the species number for your little contest, which will surely look better, and hopefully be looking at numbers in the 30's rather than top 20's As for what size for mini species, how small do we go? Do the mini/un classified species be what ever they are when they come up and the rest, more common stuff stick to the size limits? I feel it would make things a bit more fun to go out and target the mini stuff and get some interesting pics up of what we catch around hear and make it count for something, rather than personal goals. Think we could be quite amazed if you scale down on the gear? |

That hook hurt steve? "Cam hasn't quite grasped the fact that boats don't run themselves, probably why he dosn't own one and fishes on other peoples" Don't presume you know what you are talking about Steve, research fact first. You will find I have owned 3 boats, 2 being shared boats, in my teen years lots of fish caught and didn't really need to start the engine, rowed to most of the marks... and the latest being a Fletcher arrow speed boat fitted with a 75hp engine, stripped out and refurbished and sold on for a £1000 profit, including money spent. No boat at the minute? Haven't needed one, get out plenty with other people, probably 3 times more than you in a year! And actually saving up for a "new" boat, planning on buying one in 2 years, so in no rush. Plus, you won't catch me travelling 100's of miles trying catch fish, Steve, No need, unless you rely on fishing other peoples marks? "Thats the only reason he Kayaks, fuel free fishing" Thats a bit of a no Brainer When its blowing a bit, your boat stuck in the harbor, costing you lots of money for harbor fees. I may just stick the kayak on the roof and go and have a paddle out of a sheltered bay somewhere, maybe fleshwick if its a SW, nip around the corner and catch a 45lb tope, or maybe if its an easterly, go and fish the west coast beaches, catch an Island record bass (put it back off coarse) and Flounder in the same trip. After the trip, count up the running costs.....£10 diesel in the van, £3 for a sarnie and a chocky bar, cost of fishing and having fun, fuck all! Steve, go to the toilet and wipe your chin, there is lots shit coming out of your mouth! |
