All boats may leave whichever harbour they desire at whatever time they wish to do so in order to get bait and arrive at their starting point .However no boat what so ever is to start fishing in ernest until the alotted time . All anglers will fish 1 rod only with a maximum of 5 hooks at any one time,with no rod being allowed to be catching bait inconjuction with this . The wiegh in at the end of the 1st day will be at port ST mary with the wiegh in on the 2nd day at douglas . Sufficiant time WILL be given to those who have to travel to the latter in order to let them deal with their boats and travel back to the battery pier for the wiegh in and prize presentation .

There has been partly due to me as regarding the start times a slight mix up with some people ,i do appologise and hope that the correct times will not hinder anybody
DAY 1 .2ND JUNE ,START FISHING AT 10AM ,STOP FISHING 6PM ,BE AT WEIGH-IN NO LATER THAN 6.20PM .

DAY 2,3RD JUNE ,START FISHING AT 8AM , STOP FISHING 4PM BE AT WEIGH-IN NO LATER THAN 5.30PM .

THIS WILL ALLOW ALL BOATS SUFFICIANT TIME TO GET BACK FROM ANY WHERE YOU ARE FISHING WITHOUT HAVING TO STOP FISHING BEFORE THE ALLOTTED TIME.

I would at this time like to wish all anglers well for the 2 days of competition LETS GET IT ON .

We will meet at Douglas Bay yacht club on Friday at 6pm to collect your catch card for the comp and to draw the pool fish for each day .These will be edible fish so that we don't end up killing loads of Bollan Wrasse etc ok.

sadly for tr1 the rearranged start time on saturday clashes with work, as i take care of holiday cottages down south, so i will just have to start later and give you all a head start, bit of a bummer, but can't be helped

could you clarify what exactly the format is , is it total number of species over the 2 days or 2 separate comps where you combine the results to find the winner. if its total over 2 days why have a weigh in on day one? not being ackward just want to know whether we have to fish the same stuff twice

No probs steve ,it is the most spcies of fish caught over the 2 days ,you are NOT catching any sizeable fish more than once . the reason that there is a wiegh in at the end of each day is that there is a single fish pool on each day which will consist of edible fish only IE, cod, ling plaice etc etc .
Also there will be will be a deciding fish in the case of a draw at the end of the 2 days ,this will be a calig ,so in other words if 2 anglers both have 20 species ,then the one with the heaviest calig will be the winner .Therfore if you catch your "BIG" calig on the 1st day i am sure that you would want to wiegh it in at the end of day 1 and not keep it in a bucket over night .You may wiegh in another calig at the end of day2 if you catch a larger one than you did on day 1 (have i made that one clear ) .
