| Subject: 8TH OF MAY COMP . Sun May 01, 2011 8:05 pm | |
| Hi guys ,
fishing time for this comp is 10am til 4pm booking in at 9am ,h/w is 15:00.with this comp being restricted to the "douglas Area" you may go north as far as clay head and south as far as derby haven ,thats a big enough area for any one i think .Photos of tope as usual ,but please keep the best of 5 species drawn out of the hat on the day,to bring back for the weigh in .
Our sponser for this comp is "Two and a half men " so our thanks to them for stumping up £100 and the rest of the entry fees will of course be added to the purse .I will also be running one extra pool for the largest edible fish of the day regardless of what it is ,ie coalie ,ling ,cod ,calig etc .All clear ,GOOD ,lets hope that this wind swings round and that we can get out there .
If any body wants more info on our comps then don,t hesitate to get in touch ,we are hear to help wherever possible

| See you when you get back ,no doubt Cam will be up for a trip out on the jet ski so long as this wind changes direction ,if so i think it will be a good comp .

| Jamie, just a thought but rather than make it 5 species drawn out of a hat why not simply make it you count your 5 heaviest species ? I presume you would have to put all species weighed in last year into the hat so we could have a scenario where we end up fishing for corkwing, cuckoo, rockling, poor cod and dragonet I don't mind fishing for the little stuff but I know it wouldn't appeal to some !!! Also, we would know in advance what we were likely to be fishing for and so people may not need to bother bringing certain baits. Fingers crossed the comp will be on |

| Tel that Laxey inbred that he will fish for whatever i tell him he is .ok ,.Its a fair point that Micheal but the likes of the "mini Species" are not in the hat ,certainly not for this time of year so that problem will not arise . The thing with drawing them out of the hat on the day is the suprise element ,if we already knew what we are going to fish for i would consider it boring ,the bait aspect to a degree i agree with you but where possible i do not want to turn any of these comps into a ling fest or a calig bash just so it saves you having to dig a few worms or collect a few crabs . I am however willing to redrawn a species if it is felt by all parties that there is little chance of catching it say for example a sole or a turbot , lets not forget that i am trying to put some fun back into our fishing and with all the prize money that i have worked hard to abtain from various sponsors is it not worth just a little give on the competitors behalf as virtually all comps this year carry a prize fund upwards of £200. If you feel that i am expecting too much i apologise ,but this is the way it is ,if it works all well and good if it doesn't then shoot me ,you all at the end of last year said you wanted something different without the turmoil of the previous couple of years ( when to take hols ,droping a leg etc ) well this is what i am trying to do ,every body knows i am willing to listen to all comments constuctive or otherwise and where ever i can i accomodate those thoughts . LETS NOT FORGET THE PRIZE MONEY IS GOOD TOO. Admin316. |
