Decided to give the Haddock marks a try today, with the weather still and the tides small. The hours steam seemed an age aboard Juan's boat, but it got us to the right location.
Fishing was in approximately 180-190ft of water with the tide backing to slack water. First drop resulted in fish for everyone, myself getting a Haddock and a Mackerel, Graham getting a nice Whiting with a Haddock, few other Whiting and Haddock. About a dozen Haddock where caught along with plenty of Whiting.
I got my first Red Gurnard of the year, and few of the others got them too. The tide slackened right off, so did the fishing. We moved over a bit, to some slightly shallower and rougher ground. Me and Graham got a Codling of about 2lb each soon as we touched the bottom, a small Ling, a Pout and a couple of Dogfish where caught too.We then spent quite a bit of time only catching a few whiting, we decided to head in and have a fish for a few Callig on the way in.
Stopped at the back of the Breakwater and all got a few Callig before calling it a day.
