Got the invite this morning to fish out on my great uncle Ronnies old boat, Blue Bell. Now owned by a guy called John Massam. Both have been asking me to come out for weeks to try and fix the plotter for them.
Sorted the plotter out for them and told to take her where I wanted today. We headed for the warts to try and get a some sandeel. No eels, but managed a couple of dab and some whiting. Didn't stick it long on the warts, John went white and then started spewing over the deck, dirty numb nicely Thumbs Down

Headed for a bit of shelter up the North side of the Calf. Full of Callig and some decent ones too! At one point, me, ronnie and Johnny had a treble hook up, with the smallest at 8lb and biggest just under 11lb. Most fish where in the 3-6lb bracket, kept a few of the 3lb size fish but everything else went back because they were in prime spawning condition.
The tide slackened of and so did the fish. Headed for Perwick for a quick try on the way back to the slip. First drift, I got some strange rattles, which turned out to be a Bream! Dropped down again, this time hit something on the way down, turned out to be a mackie!! Done another drift over the same patch, Ronnie got a ling of about 4lb, me and Johnny got a codling each of about 2lb. On the third drift, I hit another Bream!! along with a few smaller callig caught by us all. Few more drifts where fishless, so thought we would quit while we were ahead. Cracking days fishing for the time of the year!
