Well it was the 1st time in 2018 that it was fit enough to get out on the boats. Having an invite to fish onboard Michael Emery's Boat Kirsty III all was set to have some fun on the Callig. Lures were the order of the day and armed with a variety of lures from Savage Gear and Eddystone Eel the battle for the £ begun.
Michael drew 1st blood with a Callig of about the 4lb mark caught on an Eddystone Eel with myself not far behind with a fish of 3.5lb on a Savage lure. Fishing was steady with little bouts of inactivity until Michael hooked into what was to be the best fish of this short 2 1/2 hour session, a Callig weighing in at 9lb 11.5 ozs , a little bit larger than Michael thought it was.
Time caught up with us for this part of the trip and so we moved off from the Callig mark and headed back to the Douglas Bay mark in search of a few Whiting for Heidi's tea tomorrow. There were plenty of Whiting to be caught but it took a while to get enough sizeable ones to keep.
An early finish to the day as Michael was heading off to the pub for food and watch his beloved Liverpool on T V.
Once again many thanks for the session Michael , will have to get my £ back on our next outing.
