These days i do not do many shore fishing events but i do try to support the larger sponsored event that are run by the clubs on the Island.
Fishing this comp has always been a little hit and miss but the crack and good humour in which its run is great.
Gary reid and the rest of the Peel lads always make you feel welcome and with £300 1st prize for the single heaviest fish, every one is in with a chance of winning.
I drew peg 44 out of 60 and it proved to be a very good one for me. Fishing a 1 up 1 down rig with fladen size 4 bait holder hooks and frozen Black Lug Worm, it was half way through the comp that my rod bent and i soon had a lovely Flounder in my keep bucket.
It was my only fish of the night but when the the night was over i had the heaviest fish of the night at 1lb 6.5ozs and with the fish safely returned to the sea, i stepped up to recieve the 1st prize of £300.
here is the piccy of my winning fish
