Well the scene was set , all the tackle in the boat and launched at the normal spot of opposite the manx ferry terminal . Emmo, Phil Simpson and i think Phil Cooper set off in seach of Cod.

The weather was fine and the state of the Mersey was flat calm although there was a fiece tide brewing . The fishing was very slow and while the two merseysiders were catching fish , the manx man was not.

The best of the fishing came in the two hours leading up to h/w. During this time 17 Cod were taken with the heaviest only being 4lb 6ozs , with most between the 2.5lb mark up to just over 3lb .

Out of the 17 that were taken , super Manx Man only caught 1. The only thing that could be said of this is that he was fishing as norm for the boat on the Mersey as i found out last year when i fished with him there.

Some fish were kept for the cooker and the rest went back to fight another day, with this Emmo has had to resort to having steak for tea ,but covered in curry sauce as you would expect.
