Could you confirm the dates and comp times for the 3 day comp, your info states 5-8 which is 4 days, Is it going to be the fri,sat,sun ? Im getting grief about having tynwald day off to go fishing, are they going to be evening tides? what port are you fishing it from?

The fishing is acctually on the 6th,7th and 8th steve , you don't have to take tynwald day off for the comp , the 5 th is only going to be for booking in so that if boats are fishing from north or the south of the island they can start from those pionts. however the wiegh-in on all three days will be in douglas but you will be given appropreate time in which to get there ok.

I do however have yet to finalise the acctual fishing times,this will be announced shortly.

thanks jamie, just need the times so the less selfish entrants can plan around work and family comittmants. My wife has a hen party with an early start on the friday so i need to possibly arrange babysitter till im home

as this is a comp for the winning boat and not an individual comp, doest this mean that a boat with 4 anglers is paying twice as much to fish for the same prize pot as a boat with 2 anglers
a 2 man boat can still fish with 4 rods so there is no advantage to fishing 4 men

The entry fee for this comp is and always has been stated from day one is £40 per man, i think that the rewards for all in this comp are second to none,even if you compare it to uk boat fishing comps.

why is it that nothing gets said until the comp is on us, can you not all just enjoy and fish your nuts off .
the people who have four on a boat have the advantage anyway, a boat with two anglers fishing 4 rods is the one more disadvantaged.

Jamie if am the 4th angler on a boat using a trace with 6 or 8 hooks on my trace for example,do i A.... cut of hooks from the rig leaving 4 hooks exsposed at a choice of my own? B can i use any 6-8 hook trace just as long as i put duck tape or sellotape or something of the same nature over the barbe,leaving the attracter exsposed?????

david i truely see where you are coming from, but a little bit of common has to prevail here , however which way the boat does it (remember you are fishing as a team) no more than 12 hooks in the water per boat at any on time , no duck tape no nothing, i do not like cutting hooks off the likes of feathers but no one complains at mannin week or is this just a moan at admin day, remember you still have 2 monthly prizes to collect off me one of which is a ten pack of feathers.

Is the presentation going to take place in the yacht club after the Sunday Comp ?

I think we should all make an effort to have a few sociable ones afterwards to round off what will hopefully have been a very successful festival

Think I for one will be taking the Monday off anyway

The presentation is outside the yacht club but yes the celibrations or comiserations can or will take place in the club. MBF will be providing refreshments at the wiegh -in, including food and beer .

i think its a no brainer given the inclement weather forcasted for tomorrow afternoon,that we have the calig hunt friday morning and species hunt saurday and sunday...you have got to think poor things going back to douglas ect ect......
