AFTER TRYING TO AND FAILING MISERABLY TO PUT A COMP ON FOR YOU GUYS (SEE FISHING TALK FOR FURTHER DETAILS) THIS WEEKEND IT WAS TIME TO TAKE A CHILL PILL AGAIN.
So with a full crew( half days taken )"Bones" set off north with a bold intention of maybe catching a couple of Thornys but as it turned out non were forth coming.
Once the anchor was deployed twoo big bait rigs were deployed and along with a 2 up 1 down fresh water type rig and a set of feathers we sat back and waited for it to all happen.
Straight away several Doggies made an appearance along with Whiting which proved to be the most popular fish of the day, there was no shortage of Mackie for bait as over 50 were taken at douglas before setting off a steady little chum line was kept up all afternoon and by the end the count of Spur dogs had reached 20.
Brian my nephew who fished a fresh water type rig all after noon caught Whiting ,Grey Gurnards and at one point a double shot of two double figure Spur Dogs.
The day finally had turned out much better than it had started with both nephews happy with the days fishing that they had enjoyed .
