ANOTHER £ COMES MY WAY. Empty
PostSubject: ANOTHER £ COMES MY WAY.   ANOTHER £ COMES MY WAY. Icon_minitimeFri Aug 19, 2011 7:29 am

went out on kirsty 111 last night with skip Emmo and we headed south with intentions of getting some good fishing in. The pool for the evening was a ling ,Micheal's choice ,so collected sand eels on the way to our mark down south along with some mackie for the outer ling mark later in the evening .

Fishing was reasonable with pollack coming thick and fast with wieght from 2lb up to about 7lb.Micheal's rod bent double and a decent fish was on ,it then bent some more and took more line ,he got some of the line back again before it went slack .On the gear reaching the surface it was apparent that all the gear was intact but the fish had been bitten clean in two behind the gills. For this to happen once was enough for you to wonder what size of fish did this but it happened a second time 20mins later .

Whatever it was it was not a seal ,the teeth marks in it proved that ,i think we have some good tope knocking about as both fish must have been above the 5lb mark .

Ling was the pool and it was my good self that struck 1st with one of just about 3lb ,no monster but it got me off the mark ,this was followed by a couple of sizeable cod for Micheal tea tonight no doubt with curry sauce .

Micheal by now bored with catching pollack threw a mackie bait down to see if he could temp the preditor down below but to no avail .i had continued to keep fishing for ling and was successful in pulling one up at the 6.5lb mark .Ever eager to get out to the outer ling mark Micheal said we would have just one more drift here and then get out there whilst there was still some daylight to travel by .With this in mind i rubbed it in a little more by catching a cod of about 4lb .

Having then travelled to our next mark the fishing was not very good really with onlt five species caught here which were ,cod ,mackie, pollack ,redgurnard and a tope .With the light by now almost gone we had to give best and return to port . The night was as usual good for some and not for others as right at last knockings Micheal even lost all his terminal tackle .

On the way back i stayed out on deck to clean what fish we had kept for tea and washed the deck down ,whilst the distant sobbing could be heard in the now closed cabin as micheal had to come to terms with having to part with yet another £.
